My Mother’s Birthday

On the 22nd of February was my mother’s birthday.
My mother was very excited that her birthday was on a Sunday, so all of us would be home and not at work or wherever!

We made my mother a special breakfast of Blueberry and Vanilla yogurt with granola and fresh organic fruit. We all love this breakfast, but only have it on birthdays!

My parents specially saved up for weeks for all of us to go have lunch together - this is not something that happens often!

We went to the beautiful Round The House restaurant near Camps Bay.

It was the most beautiful clear blue sky wind still day! Some of us around the table - little ones went playing on the big green lawns!

My mother with currently our youngest family member, Michael.

My amazing parents!

Josua, Danika and some yummy food!

CJ and I

We had a lovely day, the little boys played so much and was so dirty at the end. We adults had such a great time chatting around the table in the beautiful outdoors.

My mother had such a special birthday. She is such an amazing mom, friend and colleague, and I love to spend time with her. She cares so much about everyone of us!
Happy Birthday Mommy!!

Valentine's Day

Hello Everyone! This is not Part #3 of my Tour to the USA - coming soon!
Here are a few of photos of our Valentine's Day Weekend. I thought you might enjoy it!

On Friday night I put together a little something for us "older" people. My mother put the 4 little boys to bed and we had a chocolate fondue and marshmallow frying evening.

I made some hearts and ribbons to hang from the fan to give it a more Valentine's look

On Saturday morning my Mother, Danika and I went to Hillsong Canal Walk's Sisterhood morning.
We had lots of fun!

On Sunday CJ took Josua and myself to the Waterfront in Cape Town to go buy Josua some new shoes. we also had fun walking around the Waterfront.

More Postings coming soon!
Thanks for reading!

A Weekend Away

Hi everyone, I know I haven’t been posting a lot lately. We had a very busy two months. But it is finally slowing down and I have some time to post about it.
In October, we went away for a weekend to our favorite holiday place, Brenton-On-Sea, near Knysna.
We had a wonderful time just enjoying each others company.
Brenton-On-Sea is such a beautiful place

With beautiful sunsets

Bright sunny days

Crystal clear water

Beautiful clean beach

Little birds tweeting around

Little toes curling in the sand

And such a sweet cozy cottage.

We always love playing on the beach and swimming in the sea:

Little ones “fishing”!

Call us crazy, but yes, CJ and I packed our tennis gear and played tennis on the sand! It was quite a challenge as the ball doesn’t bounce in the sand, but we had so much fun!

CJ, Josua and Danika built a water proof castle,

Daniel could sit in the middle and when the water came - he was safe!

Little Michael fell in the water and was a little shocked, so he curled up against me and we bathed in the sun.It was so relaxing to have him close to me.

When we drove back from Knysna, one evening my mother took this beautiful picture of the Knysna lake.

We also had some friends over for a day:

Little ones eating at a table.

Some of us older children.

For desert we all fried marshmallows over the open fire and then dipped it in chocolate flakes.

“Never knew frying a marshmallow is such hard work!” Little Michael.

“But it sure is good!”

All the Photo credit goes to my mother!

We had such a great time and can’t wait to be back!
Have a blessed week everyone.

Lues Family’s Holiday At Brenton On Sea 2012

Hi everyone, I hope you’re doing well. I guess the title of this post says it all! Our family holiday 2012! Every year we go to our favorite holiday place, Brenton On Sea for a few days.We stay in a beautiful little Wooden cottage which is very close to the beach and it’s a 20 min drive from Knysna. This year we went in March. It was an amazing holiday, the Lord really blessed us!!!
I wanted to share some pictures with you, hope you like them:

All of us children on the beach with KNYSNA 2012 written on the sand.
We “Boogie-Boarded” as always:

CJ, Josua and I waiting for the perfect wave, at the back.

We like the big and deep waters, while little ones prefer the shallow waters.

 Playing in the water:

Trying to catch some fish.

Only got a crab!
Playing in the Sand:

The little ones ate raisins from their trucks!

We also went to Plettenberg Bay:

Where we managed to catch some fish!!

“Look I got one!!”

And had some ice creams!

One day it was cold so we couldn’t swim, but we took our kites down to the beach and had SO much fun!!

My dad helped me get started.

I only crashed it three or four times!

My dad and Josua.

And CJ’s. He’s pretty good at it and has a bigger kite. (He never wears his hat this way around, just wanted to be funny, I guess!)

Every time we finished at the beach we had to carry everything back up!!

Then we would go for a swim in the area pool. This helped to get all the sand off everyones bodies and swimsuites.

We also “braai” (barbecue) almost every night.

Making “Stick-bread” - bread dough wrapped around a stick baked on the open fire, twisted off the stick and served with butter and honey inside, yummmmy!!
Playing around the house:

We went for a boat ride on the John Ben:

It’s tradition to always.......

Go for pizza and Milkshakes at our favourite restaurant Cafe Mario, (look at David’s face!)

Toast Marshmallows on the open fire,

Make a Trifle,

Go to the Knysna heads for a few photos, (they caught some more fish!)

We also went to friends, who live just outside Knysna for lunch and dinner.

We haven’t seen them in a long time, it was really great to catch up again!

Kelly and I also had a photo shoot:

We had an amazing holiday, I think it was the best holiday I EVER had!!

Good Bye....

Brenton On Sea, Till Next Time....
