My First Easel Card - A Wedding Card

Hi everyone thank you for popping in at my blog today.
This week I made an easel card for the first time.
It is a Wedding card specially created for Carly-Ann from Charizma Cardz who is getting married to her best friend Rob in August.

I took part in the flowing challenges:

Sugar bowl Challenge – Sketch, and Girly & Feminine theme
Charisma Cardz Challenges – Wedding theme
Digi Doodle Challenge -- Anything Goes
Crafty Cardmaker - Inky Fingers
Practical Scrapers - Border Punches and Decorative Edge Scissors
Hanna and Friends Challenge - Favourite Color
The ABC Challenge - Xtra Dimension
Creative Card Crew - An Easel Card
Tuesday Taggers - Wedding Day

Here is my card, it is one of the cards I’ve enjoyed making the most!

Here is the Sugar Bowl sketch.
I think it’s a great sketch.
This is the inside of the card.

I used a Sugar Nellie stamp called First Dance. I glittered the groom’s hat, the bride’s veil and the bottom of the bride’s dress.

I glaze and glitter this border and put two pearls on the flowers.

I’ve made a scallop out of white, sparkling wedding paper, then put two different shade of pink papers on top of that and finally a silver lined ribbon and a string of rose pink pearls.

In the right bottom corner and left top corner I put pearls too.

I put three flowers with pearls in the centre at the left bottom corner.

I repeated the scallop-ribbon-pearl strip at the inside.
I also wrote Congratulations on the same shape as the stamp.

I printed a special message in the inside with two scallop-ribbon-pearl strip on both sides.

I got the tutorial of the easel card here.
I enjoyed making this easel card tremendously and I think it is very special.

While working on the card I was thinking how excited the bride, Carly-Ann and bridegroom must be counting down the days to their wedding day!
How they must be looking forward with great expectation to starting a life together as husband and wife.

A week ago I received a very special book from my best friend as an early birthday present - my 13th birthday.
The book’s name is Preparing to be His Help Meet - a book for girls.
A few years ago my Mother got the Wife’s edition - Created to be His Helpmeet.
This book changed my mother’s attitude in marriage, as well as the whole way of looking at my Dad, helping her understand who he is and how to be his help meet so he can be everything God wants him to be and accomplish on what he was called for on earth!
Most girls spend plenty of time planning for their wedding, but make no preparation for the weeks and years to follow.
Trail and error is not the best teacher when it comes to marriage. It is much less painful to learn beforehand what God has to say about your role as a help meet to that special man God will bring into your life.
I know I want to know everything possible of how to be a happy and content wife. This is what Preparing To Be A Helpmeet is all about and I enjoy it so much to read through this book written by a wise older woman.

While making this card I was praying that the special couple who receive this card will have a truely happily ever after marriage!

Have a blessed week

Congratulation Card for a Baby

Hello every one, thank you for stopping by at my blog today.
I really appreciate it!
This week I made a card for Stampin for the weekend.
Jan, Sandie and the DT members of Stampin for the Weekend asked me to join them for 6 months!
So this is not my last time with them.
This week’s challenge was a sketch in which you must include the colours blue and yellow.

This is the sketch; I just loved working with it!

Here is my card. I made the card for a friend of my mom who is expecting her baby in 7 weeks.

Aunty Emma is always so happy and full of joy! I never hear her complain about anything.
She is expecting her fourth child, a little boy.
So I made her a lovely card.

I used a stamp of my Sugar Nellie collection called Vintage Baby.
When I got the paper I knew exactly what stamp I was to use and to whom I will give it.
I glittered the cloud that the baby is sleeping on with silver glitter and believe me it took a while!

I put two rows of star ribbon on the left bottom corner.
I bought the ribbon long ago and never used it.
It fitted perfectly with this card!

Here I wrote Dream Baby, because Aunty Emma has such a soft, dreamy look in her eyes when she talks about this new baby!

I made a corner out of paper and put it on a pop-up.
I also glued some golden stars on the card to give it a finishing touch.
Please pop over to see all the other DT members of Stampin for the Weekend’s Creations.
I used the Stampin for the Weekend lay-out to took part in the following challenges:

Charisma Cardz Challenge - All About Bling (challenge #24)
One Stitch At A Time - New Releases and Celebrations (challenge #17)
Crafty Cardmakers - Cards For Men (challenge #23)
Crafts and Me Challenges- Friends and Family (challenge #6)
Cupcake Craft Challenges - One For the Boys (challenge #95)
My Time To Craft- Xtra Special (challenge #95)

That is all for now and I hope you like my card.

A Fathers Day Card - By Danika

Hello every one, happy Friday.
Before I begin, last week Danika also took part in a few challenges with her invitation card.
On her Birthday (Tuesday the 14th) we got an e-mail to inform her she made the top 4 at the Raise The Bar challenge!
They also asked her if she would like to be a Once Off Guest Designer.
Danika said yes!
This week the theme at Raise the Bar is: “What A Special Guy”.

She made the card for my dad.

Here is little Danika’s card (She turned 7 on Tuesday).

She coloured the stamp all by herself.

Danika also wrote ‘1st’ on the piece of wood, the boy is holding, because our dad is the Best, or in other words 1st to us.

Danika also made a pocket for a little note on the card and it is prefect.
On the tag she wrote Pappa (Daddy) in her own hand writing.

Here Danika is punching a hole in the tag to put the ribbon through.
As you can see she loves being a little princess!
The crown on her head she got as a DIY gift on her Birthday.
She wore a lovely princess dress my mom made.

As I already said, Danika turned 7 on Tuesday the 14th of June.

My Mom and I made Danika a set of 7 Pre-cut cards, she can colour and assemble on her own.
Everything in this present was off-cuts from my card making supplies!
With these Pre-cut cards, she will now be able to make her own cards on Monday-nights when I make my cards!

She made this Fathers Day Card from one of the Pre-Cut cards.
She also took part in the flowing Challenges:
Crafty Cardmakers - Cards For Men (challenge #23)
Crafts and Me Challenges- Friends and Family (challenge #6)
Cupcake Craft Challenges - One For the Boys (challenge #95)
My Time To Craft - Extra Special (challenge #95)

So I hope you like my little sister’s card.

Remember to pop over to Raise the Bar and check out the DT members’ beautiful creations.
Have a blessed weekend

Fathers Day Card for my Dad

Hello everybody.
My family and I’ve had a very busy week, preparing for Danika and Andrew’s birthday parties.
CJ, my oldest brother and I are also working in my dad’s health shop, because the shop assistance is on holiday.
Danika and I got our ballet costumes’ material that my mom must make for our ballet concert in September.
Some of you may know I just love ballet, and I’ll put some pictures on my blog of the concert.
But, I still had time to make a card for my dad for Fathers Day.
I used the Friday Sketchers Challenge lay out for my card and took part in the flowing challenges:
Friday Sketchers Challenges – lay out (Sketch #105)
One Stitch At A Time - Boys to Men (Challenge #16)
Cupcake Craft Challenge - Dazzle Us (Challenge #94)
The Pink Elephant Card Challenge - Colour Red, Scallops, and a Bow (TPE70)
My Time To Craft Challenge - Extra Special (Challenge #95)
Stampavie and more - Dots (Challenge #98)
Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturdays - Handmade Embellishment (Week 43)
The Shabby Tea Room - Just for Dad (Week #13)
Digi Doodles - Tie it Up (Challenge #11)
C.R.A.F.T. Challenge - Father's Day /Men's Cards (challenge 54)
Here is a stunning sketch by Janneke

And here is my card; it is the best ‘Male’ card I’ve made.

I used a Magnolia stamp that I’ve won at a blog hop.
I have never used it before, and it fit prefect with this card!

I put a clock in the upper left corner.
Because my dad is very busy, and still have time for us.

In the right bottom corner my mom made a lovely bow.

I wrote a sentiment in the upper right corner.
I also distressed everything with a thick layer of brown distress to give it an old look.
I hope your Fathers Day cards are also finished or nearly finished.

Danika’s first card

Hello every one, happy Monday!
Today my little sister of 6, turning 7 next week, made invitations for her card making party.

She has been asking me for so long if she may take part in a challenge.
Since she does not have a blog yet I put her card on my blog.
Danika even took part in the following challenges:
Raise The Bar - Celebrate Summer
Cupcake Crafters - Dazzle us
Paper take weekly - Fun - Fun - Fun
Here is the Friday Sketchers Challenges lay out

And here is Danika’s card she made the card by herself, I just cut the paper and supervised the rest.

The stamp she used is called: Rope Swing one of my Sugar Nellie stamps and she coloured it by herself.

I hope you like her card and come back soon to see my card!

My first GDT card

Hello every one, I hope you’re all well, some of you may know that I’m a guest designer for Stampin for the weekend in June.
I’m so exited!
Stampin for the weekend post challenges every First Friday and Third/Fourth Friday of the month, which means that the first challenge of the month may run for three weeks instead of two!

This week the theme is summer or travel and here is my interpretation:

I used my own lay out. I always use a layout, but this week I just could not find the right one, so this was a real challenge.

For the first time I used two stamps for this card.
The first is a stamp from the Whiff Of Joy collection and is one of my favourites. She is a young mother who is pregnant!
I coloured her pink and put some golden glitter on the shoes, some silver on her ring.
This stamp makes me think of my mother.

The stamp has the same hair style as my mom.
My mom pregnant with David 4years ago

A few weeks ago, Friday Sketchers Challenge, turned 2 years old and had a blog hop, I won one of the DT member’s blog prizes which was:

Three rubber stamps – a boy, girl and a garden chair. I used the stamp of the garden chair for the pregnant mother to sit on.

Part of the prize was also little butterflies that you cut out and if you want to glitter it and put some gems on

Aud also send me a card with a lovely letter inside.

This is one of the butterflies I won. I placed the butterfly on a yellow, embossed with dots, circle. I glittered the butterfly and put three little gems on.
I also bend the wings a bit so that it looks like a real butterfly.
In the upper right hand corner I made a photo corner with zig-zag paper, in the middle I wrote Celebrate Life and put it on a circle. And I put a flower on the upper left hand corner.

I hope my card inspired you for the summer/travel theme.
Please do pop over to the other Design Member’s blogs to see what they have created for the Stampin for the Weekend challenge.

Don’t forget to link your summer/travel creation on the Stampin for the Weekend Challenge.
I can’t wait to visit your blogs and look at all your beautiful creations.

With this card I also took part in a few other challenges:
