Back To School Card

Hi everyone! Hope you’re all doing well.
I’m doing fine, it’s been very busy here lately.
Our family has been sick for the past two weeks, except me and my older brother CJ.
My mother is still busy with our ballet costumes. She does not have much spare time for sewing, between all the little ones.
Anyway, Stampin For The Weekend has a new challenge this week and the theme is: Back To School.
Simon Says Stamp are sponsoring our challenge this week.
I’m not in school (we’re all Home schooled) so I thought it will be really challenging to make this card. To my surprise I found it very easy to make!
It’s because I’m home schooled that I have the time to make cards!
We don’t have to do homework like other children after school! We do our subjects till its finished or until our time set for a subject is over.
It’s so much fun to be home schooled! We can work at our own pace, learn about things that interest us and never have a boring moment!
You can read more about our home school journey on my brother, CJ’s website.

Our parents encourage us to discover and develop the gifts, talents and passions God gave us.
Every card I make is made with someone special in mind and I just love to bless him/her with my God-given talent!
So on with the card:

While I was brainstorming the Back To School card, I kept thinking of red and blue.
So here is my red and blue card!
I used a Sugar Nellie stamp, and coloured it with Promarkers.
My mother helped me write ABC on the piece of wood, with a black gel pen and shadow it with a white gel pen.
I used the following colour Promarkers:
Berry Red – for the hat and bow tie.
Yellow – for the little pieces on the strip of the hat and for the patch on his pants
Sandstone – for the little boy’s hair and the piece of wood
Dusky Pink – for the boy’s skin
Sky blue and Cyan - for the boy’s overall
Apple – for the green on the hat, pants (apples) and the boy’s top.
Bright Orange – for the patches on the pants
Cool grey 1 – for the shadow around the stamps
I just love working with my Promarkers!

I cut out stars with my Silhouette digital craft cutter, glazed them and glittered them with golden glitter.
Please hop over to my DT friends and take a look at their stunning creations!
I also took part in the following challenges:
Stars and Stamps (no glitter) - use patterned paper
KAH-Wink-E-Dink - kids cards in primary colors
Dutch Dare  - anything goes
Crafty Ho's - back to school
Paper Take Weekly - White and Bright
Flourishes boutique - NO Embellishments
Shirley2Girls - back to school and use the color red

Have a blessed week
Crafty Greetings
