Hello everyone, I hope you’re doing well?
Today is Thursday and that means a new challenge over at Paper Play!
The theme for this week’s challenge is...............
A Recipe!!!
3 Different Embellishments, 2 Patterned Papers and 1 Lace!
That’s the recipe!
We are kindly sponsored by Just Some Lines.
Do you need some inspiration?
Here is my creation:
My mother and I have been invited to a Friend’s baby shower on Saturday, so I decided to make a girly door hanger for her, to warn her other children when the baby is sleeping.
I used one of my favourite stamps. It’s a Whiff Of Joy Stamp Called: Willow Holding Baby.
I have been wanting to use this stamp on a door-hanger for our house ever since my mother fell pregnant, with her last baby. But when my mother lost the baby, I had no use of making it anymore. Now I made one for this lady and I really, really hope and pray that I will be able to make one for our home for a new baby too, very soon.
I coloured this stamp with the following Copics:
E37, E35, E33 and E53 - for her hair and the baby’s hair.
R20, R21 and E00 - for their skin.
G17, G14 and G12 - for her green dress.
RV34, RV13 and RV10 - for the baby’s blanket and the lace on the mother’s dress.
W3 - for a shadow around the stamp.
On the left I wrote: “Shhh........ Baby Sleeping” in my favourite font and printed it in dark pink. I added a flower at the top of the image as one of the embellishments. On the right I added five dark pink pearls for another embellishment.
For the third embellishment, I made holes in the top two corners with gold eyelids and threaded an organza light pink ribbon through.
This lace was the left over of the skirt my mother made me for my birthday and I think it really looks nice on this creation!
I printed out a little poem and stuck it at the back of the door hang and I think it makes it very special.
I hope you like my door hanger.
Please hop over to Paper Play Challenge and see if you can take part in our challenge. There are some more great inspirations to draw from!

ReplyDeleteDearest Heidi-Mari, I LOVE the door hanger and feel very, very blessed that you have shared such a beautiful piece of your handiwork with me and our new baby! The colours you chose are perfect for the little baby nook I made in our bedroom, and the picture you used is so sweet and tender - just like a mommy's heart when she holds a dear little newborn! I hope that you and your mom will drop in to see our precious little princess when she arrives! I look forward to one day showing her the lovely gift you made for her. Keep up the good work - your cards are really beautiful!! Much love, Tannie Grietjie
